How to remove eye bags
How can we get rid of eye bags?
Unfortunately, fillers (hyaluronic acid) or Botox do not bring any lasting improvement. Surgery is necessary. With our gentle surgical technique of lower blepharoplasty, we can reduce and redistribute the fat from the eye socket. The tear trough ligament that separates the eye socket from the zygomatic bone (see arrows) is opened from the inside and the fat from the eye socket is blended over the zygomatic bone. This technique achieves two things: firstly, the transition between the eye socket and zygomatic bone no longer appears as harsh, but looks as it did in youth, when there was no visible demarcation between the eye and zygomatic bone. And secondly, the bags under the eyes disappear. If there are excess wrinkles on the lower eyelid, these can also be removed.
Just like facelifts, lower eyelid surgery should only be performed by plastic surgeons who are particularly familiar with the technique. With our special technique of operating through the inside (conjunctiva) of the eye (transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty), the risk of a “drooping lower eyelid” (so-called ectropion) is extremely low. We would be happy to advise you on how we can eliminate your eye bags.
