Necklift

Some people have a "double chin" by nature. Here the body has stores some fat on the neck under the chin. With a necklift, a small liposuction or a combination of both, the fat can be removed and the angle between the neck and face can be contoured again. This operation is not only performed on women, but also often on men who want to appear a little "fresher" again. A "double chin" removal or necklift can be performed alone or in combination with a natural facelift. We are happy to discuss the procedure in a consultation.

Surgery

The necklift can be performed under a short general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia. The skin incision is hidden under the chin. Excess fat on the neck is then removed, the neck muscle tightened and then (if necessary) the excess skin removed. Small tubes (drains) to drain off the wound water remain for one day. A light bandage minimizes the swelling.

After Surgery

The neck is swollen for about 1 to 2 weeks. Some bruising may remain for 2 to 3 weeks. The stitches are removed after 5 to 7 days. During the first two weeks, heavy physical work, sports and sauna should be avoided.

Risks

Acute complications are extremely rare. However, as with any surgical procedure, there are certain risks, such as bleeding, infection or wound healing disorders. You can minimize the risks by not smoking. We will discuss the exact risks in detail during the consultation.

Costs

We will discuss the costs in a personal consultation.
